This year, Canine Companions for Independence was the big winner, with a donation of over more than $17,000.

Judee Slack says the money will be used to provide training to a dog that will one day become a service companion for someone with a disability in Ada County.

"In order to provide these service dogs to people with disabilities, generally the cost of them is about $50,000 and the only way that's made possible is through the generous donations of individuals and other organizations," Slack said.

Other groups that received donations on Wednesday include Giraffe Laugh, Idaho Botanical Garden, Camp Lolo, and Girls on the Run
